Q: How long does NY traffic court legally have to issue a postponed court date?
Got a ticket 2013, postponed original trial, the court finally Issued me a new trial date March 2016. Just received summons in mail Feb. 14. I have also moved out of state and cannot make the trial. The court clerk said I can change plea to guilty and pay, or have a family member stand in for me. What happened to my right to a speedy trial.
