My friend told me I will lose my license because I got my first ticket within 6 months of having my license. Is this true?
A: That rule applies to juveniles, not adults. A licensed driver under the age of 17 who receives a moving violation within six months of procuring a license is subject to a suspension that requires a parent or guardian to accompany him or her while driving. The best thing to do when you get any ticket, however, is to get a lawyer to go in and get you a non-moving violation as moving violations will increase your insurance rates.
