Q: I am a single mother with a five year old daughter, her father has never supported her, I petitioned the court and won

support for her.it's almost a year that he seen her, I want to move out of state with my child and two other children , he stated he filed papers for visitation, will that stop me from moving away, i haven't been served yet.

A: There are certain rules and procedures for moving out of State. If you have a job or family related reason for the move, this could be enough justification for the move. The father does not seem to have much leverage but the ultimate decision on these matters is left up to the Judge. I recommend you contact a local family law attorney for advice, guidance, and a recommended course of action.
