Q: What property should be listed on a asset list for a divorce?
I am currently living with my father to help out with his divorce and everything else. I am not involved in this divorce in any way. He was asked to make a asset list. Is he suppose to list just his assets? Or is it a list of everything present at the home and ownership needs to be stated in the list? I was confused because there are a number of items not belonging to him or his wife. Thanks for your time.
A: What the court wants to know is those things which can be divided between the husband and the wife. If he is holding some things for a third party, those items probably don't need to be listed. Ask the clerk of court to be sure.
