Jersey City, NJ asked in Family Law and Domestic Violence for New Jersey

Q: what happens if I violate a restraining order that I made?

I have a restraining order on the mother of my child, and she's violated it so many times. I've complained to the court and even made complaints and nothing was being done. I finally gave in and responded to her nonsense. If brought up in court for final hearing will this affect me in anyway?

A: Your "facts" are a bit too vague. Either there is or there is not a FRO. There are very serious consequences for violating an FRO. It could ruin your life and cause you more problems than you realize. Do not try to handle this yourself. To properly answer your questions and address your concerns, the best way to handle this is with an in person consultation with an experienced domestic violence trial attorney.
