Mckeesport, PA asked in Civil Rights and Health Care Law for Pennsylvania

Q: I signed in at my doctor's office with a kiosk machine. Kiosk asked me if my fingerprints were on file. Is this legal

Do they have the right to ask for your fingerprints to be on file as a patient? Especially since they had their systems whacked and patient info was stolen before. It is not for a job..just a medical visit.

A: Assuming it's for the doctors' office yes. Impersonal, bad atmosphere, but legal.
