Q: How to send divorce summons to spouse in different country

Hello, I am right now residing in India. I am married with my husband on 02/27/2015 in NYC office of city clerk on papers. I moved to USA on 01/20/2016 and my husband is on H1 visa status. We got married religiously with traditions in India on 01/01/2016. Lately we are having issues with each other and we have decided to proceed with divorce. I am right now in India since 08/04/2016. My husband has filed divorce under irreconcilable differences and send me a civil action summons. But the notice that I have received in India is not through any registered courier service or no sheriff came to deliver the papers and neither did any professional process servers. My husband's uncle came with a random person to serve the papers. The papers were served in a simple envelope without any seal of any courier service or any seal of Indian court. Also, the notice was given in hands of my mother as I was not home. Is this the proper/ legal way to send a notice to spouse in different country? Is t

A: Service of the Divorce Summons and Complaint may be defective, but if you both want the divorce, it does not matter. Good luck.
