Tulsa, OK asked in Traffic Tickets for Colorado

Q: Do they send rental car speed ticket via mail to Hertz? I was not pulled over by any cop? But was overspeeding.

What is the possiblity of getting a overspeed ticket via mail, if i was not pulled over by any cop?, I was driving on I70 in Colorado. I am new to US and was not aware of the strict speed enforcement till someone informed me about strict actions taken against overspeeding in US. I am not sure if any automated cameras or any cop clocked my speed.

A: If you we not stopped by the police, should not receive a ticket in the mail. Photo radar cameras are a possibility; most are mobile, so it they are not easy to avoid. You generally know you got caught by photo radar cameras if you saw a bright flash (like a professional photographer took a picture). It is true that the US does tend to strictly enforce speed limits over some countries. If you did get caught, the police will trace the car back to the rental company and the rental company will refer driver information to the police. Then the police will contact you. Unless you were driving way over the speed limit (or in a extra fine zone) a normal speeding ticket is around $100.
