Copperopolis, CA asked in Real Estate Law for California

Q: I am a RE broker in CA and going to be the officer/broker for an LLC.

I will be joining an LLC as an officer/broker. I will have RE agents operating under my license as well. The company is a Wyoming LLC and I am a CA broker that will be conducting business in CA. I need to know what forms/documentation I will need and how/where I need to submit them to the CA DRE (BRE). I also need to know what the agents operating under me will need to do to transfer their license under me as well please?

A: Your Wyoming LLC would have to register with the California Secretary of State as a foreign LLC doing business in California. You would have to license the LLC with the California Bureau of Real Estate as a broker. Your agents would have to contact the California Bureau of Real Estate to transfer their license to the LLC.
