Marshalltown, IA asked in Child Support for Florida

Q: Won by default in Florida for child support. Mother moved away, but now is back in FL. Will I continue to pay it?

Contested child support payments to child, because paternity was not determined. Mother kept never showing up for DNA testing so I won by default and did not have to pay for child. Mother then moved to another state and again filed for support and got it because I am on the birth certificate. Did not take legal action, but recently they moved back to Florida. Am I legally required to pay still?

A: Yes. As I understand what you are saying, the mother sued you for child support in another state and got a judgment. She can enforce that judgment in Florida, unless you successfully ask the court in the other state to order that judgment be set aside.
