Los Angeles, CA asked in Criminal Law, Personal Injury and Sexual Harassment for California

Q: I had no knowledge to her being a minor at all

On Craigslist a ad was posted and we exchanged one nude picture of each other, that was the farthest it went for us, I didn't know she was a minor because I thought it was illegal to lie on an online site about your age, now a number that showed on my phone as "911" called to tell me she is 15.. what do I do I have only three hours until I call back to say my side of the story. I'm scared I don't want to get kicked out of the military , 25 years in prison and registered as a sex offender. State is California

A: Gotta talk to a lawyer. In the service? Go to a JAG for starters. Illegal to lie on an online site? You really think all those people who say they are 40, or 50 are? Or that they are "sensitive" "caring"? Swipe that, buddy.

Next, Jag or lawyer can run interference to make sure who called you is really police. Why? Number wouldn't be 911--detectives call backs are normally regular exchange numbers. So maybe someone is sweating you so you are grateful when they tell you for a payment to the young lady who is .....an orphan etc they will let it slide. But you miss a payment.....and cash, please.......

So you would then have two plus problems.

So yeah, lawyer up time.

Go for the overseas posting?

But download the craigslist ad if you still have it. That is your evidence.
