For example I receive the judgement in less than 6 months for my divorce does that mean i can get married at once or do i still need to wait for the 6 months "timeline" for the divorce in California? Thank you

A: You can receive the divorce judgment paperwork in less than the 6 month time period. This often happens if your case was very simple or your county is small, not crowded, etc. In large California counties (e.g. Los Angeles), the backlog of cases is tremendous so even simple cases take more than 6 months.

The papers you received should have a date stamped on it indicating when you will be single again. As long as you wait until after that date to get married, you should be fine.

A: You can remarry after the judge issues a divorce judgment, finalizing your divorce. The best first step is an Initial Consultation with an Attorney.
