Warren, MI asked in Criminal Law for Indiana

Q: How hard is it to restore my rights so that I can get my ccw? I have 1 misdemeanor charge from 92.

I got arrested in 92 for domestic violence and did a pre-trail deversion so that after I finished the classes and payed the fines the charge was supposed to be exsponged. It never got exsponged and it shows that I pleaded guilty to domestic violence but was dropped to a misdemeanor traffic violation. But because it shows me pleading guilty I can't get my ccw until I get my rights restored. I have never had anything prior to this or since.

A: I would need more info to accurately answer the question. If it was a PTD and was dismissed but the records show incorrectly then you can expunge your case & restore your rights. If it was a conviction, then you may be able to still expunge the conviction. However, it will only restore your IN rights, but not your federal rights.
