Q: Can't afford medical care, will SS deny me for not following treatment?
If I can t afford health insurance to see a specialist, and the only local access I have to medical care is a ARNP at the local health department (don t qualify for medicaid) will the SSA denied me for not following treatment? Or will they take the inability to afford adequate health care with the only medical treatment I can afford/get is a ARNP at a clinic in the health department a good reason why I'm not seeing specialist
A:
They don't deny you for not following treatment. They deny you for not having a record saying what you have.
See what letter you can get from the ARNP. Ideally, if they believe in your case they will write why you cannot work at any job on a sustained basis and ask that social security or the State Disability Determination Unit get you the necessary tests.
I would also suggest you look again at the ACA website as you may qualify for health insurance SUBSIDIES that would make the health insurance more affordable.
