Ridgewood, NJ asked in Landlord - Tenant, Personal Injury and Real Estate Law for New Jersey

Q: How do we get the landlord to fix lead pipes or move us out?

My two year old suddenly has elevated blood lead levels after we moved into this place. Using an at-home kit, we found lead solder in the water lines leading to our kitchen sink. We want our landlord to remove the lead or pay our moving costs to minimize my child and his unborn siblings exposure.

A: Best bet is contact an attorney who is a member of NJ Assn for Justice who handles lead exposure cases--they give free consultations.
