Q: I been separated since nobember 2015. I pay my wife separation pay. When should I stop paying her if she wont divorce?

She keep saying i gotta pay her until we officially divorce. We never signed for me to pay her alimony in front of a judge. So I shouldn't be paying her right?

A: If there's nothing saying you have to pay her, like a Separation Agreement or a Court Order, then why are you paying her? If you want a divorce, why are you waiting for her to do it? In NC you do not need her permission or consent or for her to sign off on paperwork to get divorced. If you meet the eligibility requirements for divorce, you are entitled to a divorce as a matter of law and there isn't squat all she can do legally to prevent it. Got to www.easyncdivorce.com and get this wrapped up.
