Q: A woman told me she had an abortion but now she's saying she had the baby. What can I do?

A: You need to file with the putative father registry immediately. Look it up online. Pay the fee. That will make sure she cannot adopt the baby out without your knowledge, consent or permission, assuming she has not already done so.

Next, look up her name in the babies born part of the newspaper. Look at her fb online. Talk to friends and family members. See if you can find out informally if she had a baby or not.

Eventually, you could be sued for child support by the state if she had your baby and if u ask for a dna test, they will have to prove it.

This is very complicated. You should talk to a lawyer.

A: Sounds like you need to file a Paternity case, Iif you believe you are the father. I would contact an attorney for this.
