Q: I have custody and just recieved a job offer in Japan. Mother doesn't pay child support. Custody in duval. Am I ok to go

I have had custody of him for almost five years. Divorce and child custody has been all in duval county court. She doesn't pay child support.

A: Whether or not she is current with child support is immaterial. The issue is what the custody order says about custody and visitation. Presumably she has some sort of custody or visitation rights. If so, moving the children to Japan would probably interfere with that. You should file a motion with the court that you be permitted to take the children with you.

Also, the children will need passports. Passport applications for children usually require the signatures of both parents.
