Norwalk, OH asked in Family Law, Criminal Law and Juvenile Law for Ohio

Q: Can I be charged after running away for the last 3 months of my minor state?

I am 3 months shy of turning 18 and my home life is making me severely suicidal. I understand that i can be arrested and put in juvenile detention center, but what can happen if i am not found by the police by the time i am 18? Can I still be charged with anything? Can my 20 year old boyfriend get charged with kidnapping still?

A: Contact a local suicide prevention center immediately. Right now. Huron County hotline is 800-826-1306. Also talk to your school counselor after you make that call and whatever else they recommend. If your mental state is that fragile, running away with your boyfriend is not going to help your situation. Running away is not going to help your situation. If you cannot support yourself financially on your own, you are likely to end up in a very bad situation. Stop typing and make a phone call to talk to someone for help. 800-826-1306 That's what they are there for. They can help you. Please let them.
