Cleveland, TN asked in Collections for Tennessee

Q: if the plaintiff reschedules the court date, how will I be notified? Will I be served again by a police officer?

I was served by a police officer to appear in court summonses by a debt collector. I called the D.C and agreed to a settlement. They said my funds wouldn't clear in time to drop the court date so they would reschedule, until they get the funds, then call the courts and drop completely. My question is, will I be served again by a police officer at my home(embarrassing) or will I have to show up to the original court date for them to tell me it was rescheduled. I just don't want to be served again because I live in a nice neighborhood and don't want to alarm my neighbors.

A: You will NOT be served again, you should go to the original court date to get the re-scheduled date ( and to insure they do not take a default judgment against you without your consent).
