Saint Charles, IL asked in Family Law and Child Custody for Illinois

Q: Can I move to another state without telling my baby's dad (ex-boyfriend) if he has no current custody of her?

I found out he cheated on me while pregnant. We are no longer together and the only support he supplies is her medical care. I am moving for a job and to live with my parents and family members for greater support. I do not want the father to have any visitation but have allowed him to see our baby 3 times for a few hours at a time. I want to move on with our lives and he currently has no custody agreement nor has he even filed for one. I don't want to move and have to come back to IL if he should file later. This is all for the health and benefit of my baby and myself.

A: It is better for u to file if u don't want to come back. He can file and the judge could make u come back if u leave.
