Denver, CO asked in Animal / Dog Law and Landlord - Tenant for Colorado

Q: My landlord is claiming that my whole apartment was soaked in dog urine, even in rooms my dog wasn't allowed. What to do

I recently moved out of an apartment and my landlord is claiming that all the flooring needs to be replaced due to pet urine. My dog had maybe one or two accidents that were cleaned up immediately and wasn't even allowed in certain rooms that they are claiming damages. They already charged a non-refundable pet fee, deposit, and pet rent, how can I dispute any further charges?

A: If negotiations have broken down, the options are court (small claims or housing court) or a mediator.
