Q: Will I be detained at airport when I leave USA after illegal stay with expired visa?

I entered C1/d visa in USA didn't join the ship.i have filed the asylum application.my visa has expired.now I have decided to leave USA and go back .will I be detained at airport while leaving USA because of illegal and visa expired?

A: No. Leaving is not a problem unless you have an outstanding warrant for a crime. Returning will be difficult. You will have a three to 10 year bar. A 5 year bar for which there is no waiver available and you may be banned from the USA forever if your asylum application is considered to have no basis in fact.
