Concord, CA asked in Divorce for California

Q: How does the stuff discussed below work if there was a divorce? I live in California

I am previously divorced and got taken by my ex. I'm getting married again and have much more in assets than my fiance. I currently own a home in my name only. We may want to buy a bigger home so may have to sell my house. I would be putting basically the entire down payment for the new house. Would I get that money back if there ever was a divorce? I also have a nice retirement (80k) and savings account (40k). Are the values of those mine as of the date of the wedding and only money put in after be able to be taken as community property? We plan to join bank accounts so my savings would be put into a joint account. I don't forsee ever getting divorced but was burned so bad by the last guy I don't want to be taken advantage of again. I live near sacramento
