Q: Do workers comp payments come monthly or in a bigger amount all at once?

A: Ongoing Workers' Compensation wage loss benefits are to be paid the same as wages were at the employer. So if you were paid wages every week, you should receive a wage loss check every week. If you were paid wages every other week, your wage loss check should be paid every other week. If you are asking about back benefits for a recent decision or agreement they would normally be paid in a lump sum. Settlements are also normally paid in a single lump sum.

A: Workers' compensation payments in PA are supposed to be paid in the same fashion as the injured worker was paid while working (so, if an injured employee was paid every other week, that is how the workers' comp checks should be paid). A lump sum payment is usually seen only if there is a retroactive payment due or if there has been a settlement.

A: Workers Compensation Benefits in the State of Pennsylvania are to be paid at regular intervals, in the same fashion in which you are paid, prior to your injury. For example, if you were paid weekly, you should receive a weekly Workers Compensation Check, and if you are paid by-weekly, your Workers Compensation Check should come at the same interval.

Please note that this does not ensure that you receive your Workers Compensation Check on the same date as your payday, when you are working, but applies to the frequency of payments.

If you were to Settle your Workers Compensation Claim, you would typically received a lump sum payment, however, some Workers Compensation Carriers insist upon Settlements via an Annuity which would typically be paid at the same frequency as noted above.
