Lehigh Acres, FL asked in Family Law and Child Support for Florida

Q: Does the parent with Custody in Florida have to live with the child.

My ex has temporary custody and is living four miles down the road from me. Our son was also living with him until six months ago. At which time my ex moved our son in with his parents over 90 miles away. Not only are they not living together, it's interfering with my visits, and I'm not sure if child-support is going to our son.

A: Your ex can delegate his custodial rights to his parents. If this interferes with your visitation you could request that the court enforce your custodial rights.

You cannot micromanage how he spends the child support you pay him. What he spends it on is not your concern, as long as your son is being taken care of.
