Q: Rights&responsibilities to 2yr old grandson if his mom, victim in dv that was at my home, is manipulated by perp
My daughters bf who fathered 2yr old grandson, was arrested at my home and charged w/dv. He's a felon w/convictions in another county. He's in&out of jail, and I don't know much about what it entails, however, in the short time she's known him he's lived off of her and her family, stolen, etc. My concern is that, I know he is manipulating her and, due to the nature of this person, I have real fears for her and grandson. My daughter and her family(incl. me) take care of all baby's needs, etc., yet, even w/case forthcoming, she is allowing him fatherly rights, and seeing him, being manipulated. She is going to try to help him in court. This offense was at my home with grandson and my 15yr old son present. The bf is at this time in jail again in other county, but somehow still getting to her. Aside from CPS can I protect grandson somehow? Although my daughter is the only "victim" and subpoenaed, should I contact prosecutor still, to give any info, including aside from this offense?
A: You can seek custody of your grandson. Use the Find a Lawyer tab to consult a local family law attorney who can review all the facts of the situation and advise you about that process and what you would have to do.
