Saint Petersburg, FL asked in Landlord - Tenant for Florida

Q: MY COWORKERS LANDLORD TOWED MY VEHICLE WHILE IT WAS PARKED ON PROPERTY. WE CARPOOL TO WORK. TAG IN DATE....LEGAL?

THE PROPERTY HAD RENT PAID THROUGH THE END OF MARCH. THE OCCUPANTS HAD BEEN INFORMED THEY WOULD HAVE TO VACATE PROPERTY BY THEN. THE LANDLORD WAS TRYING TO FORCE THEM OUT MORE QUICKLY AND ON ONE OF HER UNANNOUNCED VISITS TO THE PROPERTY SHE TOWED MY TRUCK THAT WAS PARKED THERE WHILE WE CARPOOLED TO WORK IN A MORE RELIABLE VEHICLE. THE TRUCK WAS NOT ILLEGAL AND WAS PARKED OUT OF THE WAY OF OTHER VEHICLES. THE OCCUPANT SPOKE TO THE LANDLORD WHILE SHE WAS THERE AND EXPLAINED THAT WE WERE OVER 55 MILES AWAY AND COULD NOT RETURN UNTIL END OF WORK DAY AND THE TRUCK WOULD BE MOVED THEN. SHE STATED THAT WAS FINE BUT TOWED ANYWAY. I COULD NOT AFFORD THE IMPOUND FEES. IT IS A 4X4 AND WAS TOWED WITH OUT THE KEYS MOST DEFINITELY CONTRAINDICATED FOR VEHICLE. I ATTEMPTED TO SPEAK TO LANDLORD AND SHE SAID SHERIFF TOWED. SHERIFF SAID PROPERTY OWNER HAD TOWED AS DID TOW COMPANY
