Q: i currently have full custody of my 3 kids 12, 14,&16. i have to move 2.5 hours away and my ex wants to take them

they do not want to move but i have no choice but also i dont want them living with him because he just recently wanted something to do with them in the past 12 months. he also works out of town and more hours than i do. he was violent with me so i divorced him but is there a way for me to stop him for being able to take them from them since they are of age to choose and make them stay with me

A: Your Divorce Decree should contain provisions for a parent changing residence. Be sure you follow them.

While your children may express a preference as to parental custody, the judge isn't required to follow if there are good reasons not to.
