Asked in Traffic Tickets for Georgia

Q: I recently got a ticket for an illegal u-turn in Sandy Springs. However, the ticket was issued to my Father.

Name, license, DOB, physical description... All my father. What's the likelihood I can either get it dismissed or the fine reduced? Considering I was never technically ticketed and he is obviously innocent and has nothing to do with this. Called the courts and they said to come to the court date. Any advice or insight?

A: Better find a traffic ticket lawyer, before you get into trouble by saying or NOT saying the right thing at court. Sandy Springs does not "play around."

It sounds like the driver's license was not produced, and you gave your name and address, and the officer found the wrong person's ID, through DDS records.

Most stops by SS police are video recorded. It will not take long to bring this back to you.

If this ticket gets recorded on your Dad's license and boosts his car insurance, be sure to have your dental insurance bills paid up.
