Lockport, IL asked in Traffic Tickets for Illinois

Q: Suspended license for a 20 yr male

My 20 yr old son has conviction on his license issued 9/22/15 for driving 35 mph over the limit. Just recently 5/22/17 he received a ticket for failure to signal while changing lanes.

Now there is a suspension on his license for 1 yr, effective 6/24/17.

He requested a hearing w/secretary of state and they told him he was out of options but may qualify for a permit just to drive to work, but not school.

Is he truly out of options? If not please advise what his options are.

Thank you!!

A: An attorney may be able to file a motion to vacate on the second ticket (failure to signal). If the conviction can be removed, the license suspension would be rescinded by the Secretary of State. You son's license would be fully reinstated. In which county did the second offense occur? Did he appear in court or simply pay the ticket? Has he ever received court supervision on a ticket?
