Q: Sue my dentist for malpractice

Got a root canal done a couple of months ago and my tooth started hurting but the pain would only last 2 days and go away from weeks or a month at a time so I figured it wasn't anything too serious. However, the pain came back and decide to go and not my dentist but another dentist who also works in the same building saw me since my dentist was booked and to my surprise said my tooth was infected and had to be removed due to the fact that I never got a crown over my root canal but never once mentioned I needed one during the procedure. She also mentioned that I will have to have the tooth removed but also have to remove the top one as well which is perfectly healthy and fine! It's not fair that I have to lose not one but TWO teeth because they failed to inform their clients. I haven't gotten anything removed waiting to see what I can do about this.

A: It depends on whether the dentist acted negligently - whether she breached the standard of care. Expert dentist opinions should be acquired as evidence.
