Q: Our lease is set to expire June 30. She came to do a walk through on June 16 and stated verbally that she did not want
To renew lease. Lease states that 30 days must be given by either tenant or landlord if not renewing. Do we have to vacate on the 30th or do we have until July 16?
A: If she starts an eviction action, it will be a public record, and could make it difficult to rent from a landlord who checks. If you aren't out on June 30, she would have to give you notice to leave, and an eviction hearing wouldn't happen earlier than July 16 anyway. So try to work it out with her.
