Bayonne, NJ asked in Traffic Tickets for New Jersey

Q: In the year 2000 I was parked in kmart. When i came out of the store I received a parking ticket for parking in a

handicapped spot. The handicapped sign was something painted on the ground. The painted sign was so light you could barely see it. I took a picture of this and went to court. The court agreed to dismiss the ticket. Now,almost 20 years later i get a letter from the court suspending my drivers license. The court says i owe 108.00 plus the 100.00 to restore my license. This is crazy. i may have the picture from 20 years ago but I don't have anything else. What can be done about this? Apparently they never updated their records. Im astonished by this situation.

A: Best to just pay it, it will cost you a lot more than $108.00 to contest this and your chance of success without a lawyer are low. Next time when you go to court ask for a receipt if you are found guilty and a certified disposition if your found not guilty and save it for life.
