Q: Can I make visits supervised

My ex, cheated while I was pregnant. Has not came to one doctor appointment, and his new girlfriend said they wanted my daughter to die, and his ex said he wanted me to commit suicide and that he said my daughter was unwanted. Can I make his visits supervised or make it where his girlfriend can't be around her he's not signing the birth certificate

A: If you are not married to the father, then you will be the sole custodial parent of your child. The father will have no rights unless he establishes paternity and also obtains a court order for parenting rights. If he does establish paternity or go to court for parental rights, then the court is also likely to order him to pay child support until the child is 18. So unless and until he gets a court order, you can prevent him from seeing the child, and you can set whatever rules you want on when he sees the child, and who else can be there. And you can completely refuse to allow him any contact at all. Note that simply signing the birth certificate does not establish paternity, and does not give him any rights. So whether he signs it or not, doesn't affect you controlling his visits.
