Q: Chances to get citation dismissed with bad DL#?

Issued citation GA - § 40-6-49 - Following too closely in very minor fender bender. Details on were citation incorrect (bad DL#). Dismissal chances? Best to talk to magistrate prior to trial or just show up for court with representation?

A: Wait for case to be called, to see if officer shows up. The fact that your driver's license number is missing a number will not cause case dismissal. If officer not present, move to dismiss, due to "want of prosecution."

If this is not granted, object to any continuance to a new date, but that likely will happen.

Ask the prosecutor is any sort of diversion or class can be taken, to keep this off your record, and not ding your insurance.
