Baltimore, MD asked in Family Law and Child Support for Pennsylvania

Q: Ex stopped paying unofficial CS. Will this effect my son's health insur (through state)? Will we go to court?

My ex and I came up with a mutual agreement that he pays 160 a month without court involvement. He's stopped paying, makes excuses not to. Our son is on state HI and requires non custodial to pay CS. I have to report changes or there will be consequences. What will happen? Will my son lose his insurance? Will they force us into court?

A: I suggest that you contact whatever agency administers the health insurance, such as DPW, and ask. If you don't want to reveal your name, just ask as a general question. You may have to file for child support through the court. Whatever you do, don't just ignore the situation.
