Orlando, FL asked in Contracts and Consumer Law for Florida

Q: My husband and I purchased a new vehicle 2 weeks ago. We signed a contract and got all of the paperwork.

The dealership called two weeks later and said we had to bring the vehicle back because they could get financing for what was agreed upon in the contract. If we returned the vehicle after signing the contract, we would have to pay for the vehicle anyway. Is the dealership allowed to break the contract we all agreed on?

A: If you read the contract carefully, I suspect that it is contingent upon financing.

A: As you might expect, would need to see the purchase paperwork first.

A: I agree with my colleagues responses. The terms of the contract is key. Consult with an attorney in your area.
