Hollywood, FL asked in Criminal Law and Traffic Tickets for Florida

Q: Arrested for not having a motorcycle enforcement by Hollywood, FL Police officer.

My motorcycle was parked as I put my helmet on and placed the key in the ignition. A police officer asks me to step off the motorcycle and requests my license and registration. I provided the officer with the aforementioned, i asked what infraction have I committed? He responds with your "license plate is obstructed" he also informs me that an endorsement is required to drive a motorcycle, mind you this is the first I hear if such a thing. He wrote 2 citations one for lack of a Motorcycle endorsement pursuant to Florida Statute 322.03(4) is a criminal second degree misdemeanor and 316.2085(3) which upon further review seems like the officer used this as means to request my paperwork, my tag complies with the law is visible from 100ft has a light is permanently affixed with no movement. What would be my defence in this situation?

A: You can fight the charge by challenging the stop. Or, get the motorcycle endorsement and show up in court with it. They will probably dismiss the charges.
