Q: Is it legal for a landlord to renig on a verbal agreement to never raise the rent due to higher charges in rent monthly
Upon moving in 5 years ago, the landlord assured me that due to his charging more per month for rent, I will never have to worry about any increase.I have just recieved my second increase totalling 11 1/2%.There are 8 tenants in his house. 6 are male. No one else recieved another increase. However, one of the tenants that has been here longer than myself remembers being promised the same and he also recieved an increase the last time we got one.
