Erie, PA asked in Divorce for Pennsylvania

Q: Am I entitled to any of my wife's business if she started it after we separated?

My wife and I separated six years ago and neither of us were in a rush to divorce. This being the case, we have only just begun proceedings. At the time of separation we really didn't have any assets to divide, we had only been married for a year but since then she has started and had some success in a multi level marketing business and another sales business she opened with her new partner. I really don't want to rock the boat but I also don't want to just roll over if there is something there that I have a right to.

A: Hard to know. My first thought is no, but without meeting with you to go over everything in detail, my response is please consult with an experienced family law attorney in your area. That's the way to obtain good advice on what might be a rather complex issues depending on multiple factors.
