I took my son to the doctor and the doctor a informed me that my sons fathers girl friend has portrayed herself as my sons mother and legal parent. She completely changed my childs hippa information and signed for my son to receive adhd medicine. The doctors office also showed me she tried to get emergency help with my sons name. His father isnt on his birth certificate nor have we ever went to court for his rights, visitation, or custody of my son. What do i do about this

A: See prior answer to this question. But if you are going to leave your son in his father's care or the care of someone else, then you should sign a power of attorney to them, authorizing them to get medical care for your son if there is an emergency and you cannot be reached, and make sure that they have a copy if needed. You also should provide information to them about your son's health insurance.
