Q: Can it affect me if i am not present to a paternity suit if I have not been served ?
My friend informed me that the father of my childen had filed a paternity suit and was trying to have me served. I have a temperary order of protection against him but he has been avoiding getting served. He doesn't know where I live for safety reasons and only knows where I work. What I'm asking is even though I haven't gotten served would it affect me not showing up to a court date that I am not aware of ?

Dodging service doesn't accomplish anything .
The cases are not going away.
If there are safety concerns, they can be addressed in the paternity case also.
