Thompson, OH asked in Family Law, Child Custody, Civil Rights and Juvenile Law for Ohio

Q: I'm 17 and I need to get out of my house now. I will end up committing suicide if I don't, how can I get emancipated?

My mother refuses to take me to the doctors for a lot of things, my foot is broken and has been for about three months and she won't take me still. Our doctor even sent a letter saying if I missed another appointment I wasn't allowed to coke back so now she won't even schedule them. She makes me want to kill myself on a daily basis and I'm seriously conserved that I'll end up killing myself soon.

A: Call your local suicide prevention hotline immediately. Also talk to a trusted family member or teacher or school counselor. Call local child services if you have to. Ohio does not recognize emancipation for minors. But there is a lot of help for your situation, so you need to find it. Do it immediately.
