Philadelphia, PA asked in Criminal Law for Ohio

Q: Boyfriend got charged with a crime that he supposedly committed but was in jail on offense date?

Was incarcerated from 8/15/17- 8/18/17 in a city jail, now that same city brought up new charges of burglary but the court socket page on the internet says original offense date was 8/17/17, and he was in jail; is this enough to get the case thrown out of court?

A: It may be. But, if its just an error in the court's online docket, not a problem with the underlying charge, it can simply be corrected. Burglary is a serious offense. He needs to hire an attorney.
