Memphis, TN asked in Contracts and Consumer Law for Tennessee

Q: I signed a customer agreement is subject to insurance company approval for the replacement of my roof.

I signed it but didn't date it and the representative didn't give me a written estimate like I asked for but quoted me $8500 and said it might be a little less or little more give or take. When the insurance company sent their paperwork, he told me the job will cost $12000 big jump from $8500. I'm trying to find out if this agreement is enforceable.

Also, the company didn't provide me with an attachable notice to cancel.

A: It sounds like you may have signed a contract with some blanks. It would be difficult to give you some definitive answers without seeing the contract. If the contract deals with a home repair then you should have a right to cancel and if the contract doesn't include language relating to a right to cancel - you may be able to cancel.
