Parker, CO asked in Business Law for Colorado

Q: We run an ecommerce site to sell products

As you might know, some manufacturers require MAP. Some are now using third party companies to scour the internet for violators of MAP. They will catch one website and do an automated search for their part numbers off your website. Here is such a company http://www.orisintel.com. We had one company pull requests every second on their part numbers off our website that it slowed our server down and even crashed it. We immediately told them to cease and they did. These companies are not indexing our sites like Google. They are deliberately creating http requests on our website and slowing it down. The problem is this is not a one time deal. They constantly hit your site every second with https requests. This IMO is no different than SPAMMING or DNS'ing. They do not have our permission to SPAM our site like this. These 3rd party MAP companies are new to the industry and I do not believe they understand they are breaking the law. Agree or disagree?
