Q: My company has been charged each month over a year for a service we discontinued.
We unsubscribed from a business application almost a year ago, but since the payment processing company they used was not (somehow) made aware by them, they continued to charge us in excess of $500. We did not notice for a long time because all charges are bundled together and the legitimate charges were almost the exact same amount as the fraudulent ones, until someone finally caught the billing discrepancy.
We have reached out to the company and they are giving us a hard time (understandably so, their blunder is costing them half a grand). Is there anything we can legally do, or at least encourage them to do to make the ethical decision to rectify their error?
