Winchester, VA asked in Consumer Law for Florida

Q: Can I be denied a receipt when a warranty is involved?

I recently got an engine swap at my dealership. I asked for a receipt of what I paid them in labor and what I paid for the engine. They refused. They stated there was a 90 to 120 day warranty on the motor. They stated they could not give a receipt because they were not a shop and they are tax exempt. They also refused to give the exact milage of the new engine.
