Q: My home was discharged in bankruptcy; I received a modification, I am now delinquent; am I liable in a short sale?
My mortgage was not reaffirmed. So if the home sales for less than the new modification amount of my loan am I responsible for the difference and can Chase come after for the difference. I feel that since they are no longer reporting any information on my credit report during the times I was current and even now; then when the home goes for a short sale they should not report that or come after for a debt that does not exist.
